Dean Henrichs returned home to meet the Lord on Monday afternoon, March 19, 2012. The Celebration of New Life service will be here at Salem on Friday, March 23 at 10:30am. The Visitation will be at the Osterberg Funeral Home on Thursday, March 22 from 5 to 7pm and at Salem from 9:30 to 10:30am on Friday.

Worship will be returning to 10:15am on March 4.
During January and February we had been starting at 10:30am but with Carole and Ron returning from Texas soon we can go back to our normal worship time with Carole back on the organ on March 11.
A big “THANK YOU” to Melynda Tracey and to Linda Ebling for sharing their musical talents with us by playing organ. We sincerely appreciate you helping lead worship in that way.

I have added a NEW page detailing the events taking place during Lent at Salem and Belmont Lutheran Churches.
I am so looking forward to the various themes and studies that will be taking place: “The Parables of Jesus“, “The Sermon on the Mount” from Matthew 5 – 7 and “Fan or Follower of Jesus”.
It should be a great with plenty of stuff going on. Feel free to invite friends. Everyone is welcome. Call the church office if you have any questions.
Calling all men!
Starting Tuesday, Feb 7 at 7am I will be in the Salem library to lead a time of prayer for men. This will be a weekly event and all men are welcome. I will provide the coffee and juice.
There will be no structured format other than to gather in fellowship, scripture and prayer. The idea is to be able to start your day with prayer before heading off to work.
The time is also flexible. If the need is to start earlier then we can start earlier…just let me know. I am a morning person.
Spread the word. Invite your friends. And let’s fellowship with God.

The annual congregational meeting with be on Sunday, Feb 5 immediately following worship. Annual reports can be found in the narthex. Following the meeting there will be a potluck dinner.
If you are a visitor/guest know that you are welcome to come for worship and stay for the potluck (you can even stay for the meeting if you are so inclined). Worship begins at 10:30am and Holy Communion will be shared.

Gene Ringgenberg died early Sunday morning (Jan 22).
Her visitation will be on Wednesday, January 25 from 5 to 7pm at the Osterberg Funeral Home in Jackson. The Celebration of New Life worship service will be on Thursday, January 26 at 11am here at Salem.
